1. Data Controller
This website, slice-lab.com, is operated by Slice Lab. For any questions regarding this policy, you may contact us at: [email protected].
2. Personal Data We Collect
Reading the site requires no account and no contact form. Slice Lab only collects personal data if you create an account to comment (section 3). Some third-party services integrated into the site may also process personal data, as described in section 4.
3. Accounts and Comments
To comment on the guides and filament pages, you can create an account by signing in with Google or GitHub. Slice Lab never receives your password.
Data processed
- The identifier of your Google or GitHub account and your e-mail address, verified by that provider.
- Your display name: at first your first name (Google) or your username (GitHub), which you can change on the My account page.
- Your comments, their language and dates, and the reports you send.
- The IP address used to post each comment.
What is public — Your display name, the text of your comments, their language and their date. Your e-mail address is never shown.
Purposes and legal bases — Managing your account and publishing your comments (performance of the terms of use, GDPR Article 6(1)(b)); preventing spam and abuse, and keeping the data French law requires from hosts (legitimate interest and legal obligation, Articles 6(1)(f) and 6(1)(c)).
Retention
- Account and comments: until the account is deleted, which you can do at any time on the My account page. A single comment can also be deleted, by you or by moderation.
- IP address used to post: one year.
- Sign-in session: 30 days.
- After the account is deleted: the provider identifier and the e-mail address are kept for one year, as French decree no. 2021-1362 requires from hosts, then erased.
Service providers — Cloudflare hosts the site and the database, and e-mails the administrator an alert for each new comment (display name and comment text). When you post, Cloudflare Turnstile checks that the submission comes from a person, using technical information from the browser, including the IP address. Google or GitHub, whichever you choose, handles the sign-in.
Data received from Google — Signing in with Google requests only the basic openid, email and profile permissions. From them, Slice Lab keeps your Google account identifier, your e-mail address and your first name, and nothing else (no contacts, files or other Google data). They are used only to create your account, sign you in, and show your first name as your initial display name. They are never sold, never used for advertising, and never shared beyond the service providers named above. Deleting your account erases them, within the retention periods above. You can also remove Slice Lab's access at any time from your Google account (myaccount.google.com/permissions). Slice Lab's use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
